June Lake

Main Street June Lake Village

Pet-friendly, kid-friendly, family-friendly and just plain friendly. Bring your friends, your dog, your kids and your energy because here at Gull Lake Lodge you’ll have access to just about everything the Eastern Sierras have to offer.

Just 20 minutes north of Mammoth, on Highway 395, is the alpine town of June Lake at 7,621 feet. The village of 500 is surrounded on the south and west by 10,000-foot peaks, high desert plains to the north, and the Mono Basin with Mono Lake and hundreds of miles of off-road adventure to the east.

While June Lake can be a great destination in its own right, we are also your gateway to many of the Sierra Nevada’s well-known attractions. Here are a few examples of what is nearby:

  • Ansel Adams Wilderness
  • Yosemite National Park
  • Mono Lake and Mono Basin Scenic Area
  • Tioga Pass and Lee Vining Canyon
  • Bodie State Historic Park
  • Bridgeport Area
  • Mammoth Lakes
  • Devil’s Postpile National Monument
  • Long Valley and Crowley Lake

Summer Recreation Paradise

The loop’s four glistening lakes, June, Gull, Silver, and Grant, are renowned for fishing and are stocked with trophy-size Alper’s trout.  You’ll find boat and float tube rentals, plus tackle and guides for your fishing adventures.  Meandering Rush Creek is the perfect spot to test your fly-fishing skills.

Lakeside Village
The picturesque lakeside village of June Lake and resorts along the Loop offer a variety of quaint accommodations, shops, fine dining, and a world class spa retreat.  Autumn in June Lake is a paradise for artists and photographers, with aspen color ablaze.

June Lake in WinterWinter Activities
Set beyond the lakes are the rugged Sierra Peaks and the June Mountain Ski Area, famous for its broad trails and easy access to backcountry skiing.  Other winter sports include snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing on a vast trail system.
